This craft is a great way to celebrate spring, Saint Patrick's Day, or learn about the weather while using fine motor skills and measuring with a ruler! I think it is best for 2nd - 3rd grade, but younger ones could do it as well with some assistance.

Educational Applications
Students learn how to use a ruler to measure inches and half inches in order to achieve the rainbow shape at the end of the project. They will need to think sequentially to plan how much longer or shorter each strip should be compared to the one below and above it.
Fine motor skills will be practiced as they line up papers, make marks from the ruler, use scissors, and glue not only flat but also manage the final 3D element.
Easy Video Instruction
If you want to try this with your children or students, I have an easy to follow step-by-step video that guides them through the process. This frees you up to manage materials or supervise while you simply let instruction and learning happen!
Check out the video here.
